Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday held a review meeting with the concerned authorities in connection to the new municipal act in the youngest state of the country.

The new municipal Acts is said to be brought before the municipal elections. The government with the new set of rules aimed to eradicate corruption and render services to the people, Telangana Chief Minister said after the meeting.

Sources familiar with the minutes of the meeting asserted that the new set of rules and acts will be tougher than the present one. These are made in a way to ensure better services to the people.

KCR in the meeting instructed bureaucrats to draft new revenue act, new municipal act, a design an urban policy to eradicate corruption. Hailing his proposed policies and acts, K Chandrashekhar Rao, popularly known as KCR said, ‘We want to create such system in the state where people can go to the government officials and can get their work done without spending a penny.

Revealing the outline structure and functioning, Telangana CM said, The District Administration has been tasked to look after all government scheme and to implement it. It will be responsible for providing services and initiate action against those who indulge in corruption.

He further added that the main special instruction has been given to Urban Policy since Telangana’s population is rising and the policy should be drafted in a way that it can cater to a large population.

The TRS-led State Government is planning to roll out the new set of rules ahead of the municipal elections. The state will hold the municipal elections after the Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) Members of the Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituency (MPTC) Elections.
