K Chandrashekar Rao has been proposing a ‘third front’ to overcome the BJP’s overwhelming power. The support for this plan has come from both Mamata Banerjee and Asaduddin Owaisi.

KCR proposed a non-BJP and a non-Congress alternative at the centre. Rao said, “From morning, I have been receiving many calls from various places in India. This afternoon West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee called and said that I have taken the right decision and she will be supporting me and that we will go forward together.” This move was called upon due to the inefficiency of the two parties, BJP and Congress. He also called out the NDA government on not delivering their promises.

He plans to meet like-minded leaders and further his plans. He also spoke about the ‘third front’ in front of the gathering at Pragati Bhavan. He said that matters like education, agriculture and urban development should be handed over to state governments. His ideology has found resonance with many political leaders from around the country. He advocates a ‘qualitative change’ at the national level. KCR also insisted on the state government has the power of the rule of reservation.  Where the centre was expected to intervene like water sharing, the states were left to fend for themselves whether it was in the sharing of Cauvery between Karnataka and Tamil Nady or the sharing of the Krishna and Godavari rivers between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.

Owaisi extended support to KCR’s plans saying, “I welcome Telangana CM’s statement and he rightly stated that people of the country are fed up with BJP’s governance and Congress is not a viable option, neither can it become one.” If the parties come together to topple the BJP government, who don’t seem like they are vacating the centre anytime soon, completely puts the Congress out of the running no matter how the situation is seen.
