Kerala Christian Forum on Friday demanded an apology from Bharatiya Janata Party president on his remarks on the National Register of Citizens. Amit Shah had said, “We will ensure implementation of NRC in the country. We will remove every single infiltrator from the country except Buddhists, Hindus and Sikhs. The Kerala Christian Forum cited that it was  a direct attack on the identity and integrity of a secular state. The forum’s statement read,”We hope that Amit Shah and BJP tender an apology to the nation and especially to the minority communities of the country, which was felt persecuted by the statement.

Earlier at another rally in West Bengal‘s Kalimpong, Amit Shah spoke about the illegal migrants in Bangladesh as ‘termites’ and said, “illegal migrants are like termites. They are eating our food grains which should go to the poor, they are taking away our jobs.” He also put out a scathing attack on the Mamata Banerjee government for appeasing minorities, saying ,”the TMC stood for Tushtikaran, Mafia and Chit funds.”

“It is our commitment to bring in NRC across the country to chuck out each and every infiltrator. Unlike Mamata Banerjee, we don’t treat infiltrators as our vote banks. For us national security is supreme. We would ensure that each and every Hindu and Buddhist refugee gets citizenship of this country.”
