Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Mullappally Ramachandran has accepted Shahi Tharoor’s explanation over his remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The leader found Tharoor’s reply as satisfactory. Mullappally Ramachandran has also advised his party members not to indulge in spreading any more material on the matter publicly.

Earlier, Kerala Congress unit chief Mullappally Ramachandran had written a letter asking for the explanation from Thiruvananthapuram MP Shashi Tharoor over the same. Shashi Tharoor has said that Modi should be praised whenever he says or does the right thing.
Shashi Tharoor expressed relief and deep gratitude to the Kerala Chief over his acceptance to the former’s answer. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor expressed happiness over the fact that his response was taken in the “right spirit” and unnecessary controversy was put to rest.
Shashi Tharoor was not the only person from the Congress party who openly praised Narendra Modi. Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on August 22, while speaking at a book launch had also called on leaders to not demonize Modi. He said that Narendra Modi’s governance framework is not all a negative story.
To this, Abhishek Manu Singhvi also extended his support to the leader through a tweeted message- “Always said demonizing #Modi wrong. Not only is he #PM of the nation, a one-way opposition actually helps him. Acts are always good, bad & indifferent — they must be judged issue wise and not person wise. Certainly, #ujjawala scheme is only one amongst other good deeds.”
Tharoor also thanked Indian Union Muslim League leader MK Muneer and Muslim Youth League President Sayyid Munavvar Ali Shihab Thangal for supporting him during this controversy.
