As Kerala and Karnataka goes to polls today along with other parts of the state, general election completes its third phase today with only two more phases to get over.

14 seats in Karnataka and all of the 20 in Kerala are going to polls today. Approximately 2.43 crore voters are to vote in Karnataka elections and 2.61 crore in Kerala. This is the second phase of Karnataka elections, in constituencies of Chokkodi, Raichur, Dharwad, Belgaum, Bagalkot, Bellari, Haveri,Bijapur, Bidar, Devanagere, Koppar, Gulbarga.

The phase one of Karnataka elections happened on April 18 with other states such as Tamil Nadu. Issues with EVM were reported mainly in Chennai in Tamil Nadu at that time. Faulty EVMs, and unsurety of votes had created dissatisfaction amongst the people. Moreover, Kerala will have Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Union Minister Alphons Kannathanam as leaders from the Centre contesting polls today. Live webcast has been enabled for sensitive constituencies so that officials of the Election commission can always have an eye on the polling process in these places. Also, CRPF personnel, women police personnel, National Cadet Corps have been deployed in the polling spots.

Besides in Kerala and Karnataka voting also continues in Assam,Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, J&K, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu.
