KT Rama Rao of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) has denied any possibility of an alliance with the BJP in upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Rao who is the MLA from Sircilla and the son of Telangana Caretaker Chief Minister K C Rao was answering questions in a Twitter live video session.

On being asked whether he would tie up with BJP in 2019 general elections, he said, “Absolutely not, because BJP and we don’t see eye to eye on a number of counts, we have a very strong difference of opinion”.

Terming his party ‘secular’, he said that BJP polarizes people on various grounds and TRS does not identify with it. There is no question of forming an alliance with BJP.

Hitting out at Congress-TDP alliance, KTR said, “Their alliance is not a mahagathbandhan but a maha-ghatiya-bandhan”.

KTR also slammed Congress for stooping down so low in attacking TRS. He said, “Principal opposition of TRS in Telangana body shamed my kids, because they couldn’t hit out in any other way. They have stooped really low”.

Accusing Telugu Desam Party (TDP – in power in Andhra Pradesh) and its ally Congress, he held them responsible deaths during Telangana movement for separate state. He said that both these parties had deliberately delayed the formation of state and led to hundreds of deaths of innocent people.

He also expressed hope that TRS would return to power and asked people to vote for TRS for the development of Telangana.

He also said that Congress and the TDP have given a “golden” opportunity to the people of Telangana to hit the two parties with one vote.

The manifesto of the TRS for the coming assembly elections in Telangana would be unveiled this month, KTR said.

He also said the TRS was considering including an “unemployment allowance” in its election manifesto. He claimed that his party is concerned about the youth while no other party has done anything for them.

“We have already issued notifications for 90,000 (government) jobs to be filled in the last four years and nearly 40,000 recruitments have been done,” he said.

He said he is keen to bring his father back to power and is focusing on the same.

KTR has around 1.42 million followers on twitter and he regularly uses it to interact with people. During the session, he also claimed that his party would win over 100 seats out of the total 119 in the upcoming polls likely to be held around November-December.
