Chaibasa Fodder Scam
Today Ranchi’s special CBI court found Lalu Prasad Yadav guilt in Chaibasa Fodder case. The fodder scam involved hundreds of millions of dollars in alleged fraudulent from the treasury of Bihar state for fodder, medicines and husbandry supplies for non-existent livestock. In this fodder scam, so many renowned ministers are convicted including highest profile person Lalu Prasad Yadav.This is consecutive for the third time when he has been convicted, already in past, he has found guilty and sentenced in two other fodder scam cases.Two more cases against him are still pending in the court.
History of case
This fodder scam is of the year 1996.When there was Lalu’s government in the Bihar and he has found guilty of doing fraud of millions of dollars along with some of his state ministers.The first case was scamming of 33.61 crores from Chaibasa treasury for which he was convicted on 30 September 2013 by CBI court of Ranchi. Immediately after this announcement, he has been given a sentence of five years and a fine of 25 lakh rupees.He was sentenced to jail many times due to his involvement in fodder case.
Lalu’s involvement in cases :
Another in second fodder case scamming of INR 8.927 million Lalu was convicted and jailed on 23 December 2017 and sentenced on 6th Jan 2018 to 3.5 years imprisonment and INR 1,000,000 fine under different acts of the Indian panel code and for the fraudulent withdrawal of INR 8,900,000 from the deoghar district treasury between 1990 and 1994.
Today Court’s decision:
And this is for the Third time today when he was convicted of the 1996 fodder scam of INR 67 crore from Chaibasa treasury.Lalu’s son Tejaswi fumes at BJP and called this whole planning of BJP and other opposition parties against his father.
Lalu tweeted – “Truth can be made to appear as a lie, as ambiguous or a half lie by the concerted onslaught of bias and hatred will still be removed, come what may in the end truth win .
He posted different tweets and in one of his tweets he compared himself with Nelson Mandela and blamed BJP he said BJP is playing dirty games.They are using the guise of scans to destroy public perception about the opposition of vote.Currently, he is taken into custody after the pronouncement of the verdict.
