Recently, at the national executive meeting of CPI (Communist party of India), National Secretary of CPI, K Narayana said that left should unite with other political parties like Congress and Janta Dal (Secular) to stop the rise of communal forces in the country. He added that considering the election results of the recent past, left will not be able to stop the communal parties and that other democratic parties should come along.

He was clearly pointing towards BJP and its recent move of promoting Yogi Adityanath to the ranks of UP Chief Minister. At the national executive meeting, it was also decided that a conclave of all left parties along with democratic parties should take place in the coming months.

In his speech, K Narayana alleged Yogi Adityanath of being a threat to secularism and democracy and added that his decisions are not in favor of the state. He termed ‘shutting down of abattoirs’ as an unconstitutional move and added that it has caused huge economy crisis in the state and that a lot of people have lost their livelihood. Also, formation of anti-romeo squads has feared the youngsters in the state.

Speaking on the results of the recently concluded assembly elections, he said that BJP has won only in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and that it formed government in Manipur and Goa on unconstitutional grounds and with the help of governor of the state.
