The former Union Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) senior leader, Nitin Gadkari confidently expressed his belief over the victory of Bhartiya Janta Party in the upcoming Polls beginning from April 11. While giving a speech in Nagpur on Tuesday, Nitin Gadkari said that he is confident that Narendra Modi will become the Prime Minister in the upcoming elections setting a straight record on his prime ministerial ambitions attributed to him by certain sections of the parliament.

There has been speculation over Nitin Gadkari filing for the PM candidate in case of a fractured poll mandate keep circulating in the political circles irregularly in the waves of the upcoming election.

The controversy over Nitin Gadkari’s Prime Ministerial candidature began last December. Kishore Tiwari, the Vasantrao Naik Sheti Swavalamban Mission (VNSSM) and the farmer’s leader demanded that if BJP wants to win the upcoming election, RSS should replace PM Narendra Modi with Nitin Gadkari.

The belief in Nitin Gadkari strengthened when UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi appreciated the Minister of Road, Transport, and Highways, Nitin Gadkari for his wonderful work and contribution that he has made to improve the country’s infrastructure. However, all these ambitions and the benefit of enjoying the RSS support were dismissed by Nitin Gadkari.

In an interview with the Press Trust of India, Nitin Gadkari told the Press that Prime Minister is responsible to decide the portfolios in a democracy. He said that Prime Minister of a country enjoys the privilege of allotting a department to a minister.

When asked about the diversion of the people from the welfare schemes of the party and the culprit behind it, He said some spokespersons and the media officials are responsible for any such acts. BJP has always taken a stand to ensure the judicious use of a language in democracy.

In his speech, he said that India should hold more meaningful debates in which we talk about the economic policies and the development related issues of the government and the people of the country.
