Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Chief of Karnataka BS Yeddyurappa denied Congress leader KC Venugopal’s claim that many BJP MLAs will join Congress party after the May 23 Lok Sabha election results counter-striking that more than 20 MLAs will not continue in Congress After the declaration of results.

BS Yeddyurappa said that “not a single person from BJP will join any other party. In fact, after the May 23 Lok Sabha election results, more than 20 MLA from Congress party who are not happy with HD Kumaraswamy will not continue in the party.”

Addressing a press conference in Kalaburgi in Karnataka on Monday, KC Venugopal asserted that many BJP MLA in Karnataka will join his party. He also said that Congress is not going to indulge in horse-trading as legislators would shift guard on their own after the election results.

KC Venugopal addressing the press conference said that “Congress will not poach any MLA from BJP but they will naturally come to Congress. After May 23 election results in last one year, Karnataka has been witnessing horse-trading mentality of Bharatiya Janata Party and on the other hand, Congress and JDS formed an alliance.”

In the year 2019 January BJP housed all 104 MLA’s in a hotel in Gurugram fearing to poach by the Congress.

Later, Congress alleged that BJP Chief of Karnataka BS Yeddyurappa offered rupees 200 crores to 18 MLAs of Congress in an attempt to destabilize during Congress JDS coalition government in Karnataka.

28 Lok Sabha seats in Karnataka went to polls in the two phases of Lok Sabha elections in the second phase on April 18 and III phases on April 23. The results for the Lok Sabha elections will be declared on May 23.
