With allies sulking over BJP being drubbed in the recent Assembly Elections, National General Secretary of BJP, Ram Madhav on Wednesday claimed that the party is getting new allies in south India and eastern India.

Madhav declared that BJP is ready for alliance politics which, according to him, is all about accommodation and adjustment. While admitting that certain smaller allies like Upendra Kushwaha‘s RLSP have broken ties with BJP, he said that the party is working on bringing new allies into its fold.

Madhav, who is also a member of the National Executive of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), did not name any party as a potential new partner of BJP for the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls 2019.

Lately, several allies of the Bhartiya Janta Party have expressed their discontent with the party. Earlier in December, Upendra Kushwaha stepped down as the Union Minister and exited the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He later joined the CongressRashtriya Janata Dal (RJD)-led ‘Mahagathbandhan’ in Bihar.

Also, Apna Dal(Secular), an ally of BJP from Uttar Pradesh yesterday declared that it would boycott all government programmes in the state unless BJP addresses its grievances.

Om Prakash Rajbhar-led Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP), an ally of BJP also alleged the party leadership of not giving due respect and due share to its allies.

In August, BJP broke its ties with Mehbooba Mufti’s People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Jammu and Kashmir.

In March this year, N Chandrababu Naidu-led Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in Andhra Pradesh left four-year-old alliance with BJP.
