According to the reports, the Madhya Pradesh Congress party leaders have decided to demonstrate a sitting protest outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s official residence in the national capital on Thursday.

The leaders will be pressing their demand of releasing central funds for losses suffered by the state due to torrential monsoonal rains this season. It is expected that the party MLA Arif Masood will lead the charge and seek an immediate release of around Rs. 32,171 crores for the state.

Speaking to the media on the matter, Arif Masood said, “The Modi-led NDA government has deliberately not released Rs 32,171 crore of the central funds, under different heads, to the Congress-ruled Madhya Pradesh and is discriminating against the state. Madhya Pradesh suffered severe losses due to floods and extremely heavy rainfall during this monsoon season and it needs fund desperately to tide over the situation.” He also said that the party will submit a memorandum of its demands.
