Ahead of Maharashtra assembly polls, Bhartiya Janta Party expelled its four rebels on Thursday. The four MLAs were found to be contesting against the official nominees of the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance in the forthcoming elections.
List of expelled legislatures-
Charan Waghmare from Tumsar-Bhandara district
Geeta Jain from Mira-Bhayandar, Thane district
Balasaheb Ohwal from Pimpri-Chinchwad
Dilip Deshmukh from Ahmedpur-Latur district
It was reported that the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had issued a warning to these leaders to withdraw their names. However, the leaders did not withdraw their names until October 7. The last date to withdraw nominations was 7 October only.
The official nominations from the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance from these seats are- Pradeep Padole (Tumsar), Vinayak Patil (Ahmedpur), Narendra Mehta (Mira Bhayandar) and Laxman Jagtap (Pimpri-Chinchwad).
Maharashtra state will go to polls for 288 assembly seats on October 21. Counting of votes will be done on October 24.
