After a meeting with Shiv Sena delegation on Thursday, Maharashtra Governor BS Koshyari assured of affirmative actions on the matter of drought relief. He said that he will ask the Union government to provide quick relief and aid to farmers affected by unseasonal rains in the region.

As quoted by ANI, BS Koshyari said, “I will request the Central government to send a team of experts to assess the losses caused by the recent spell of unseasonal rains in the state so that the affected farmers could be provided relief quickly“.

On Thursday, various leaders of Shiv Sena had met the governor at Raj Bhavan to urge the latter to declare a wet drought in regions of the state. It has been reported that the delegation presented a memorandum to the Governor seeking his intervention in the issue. The delegation was led by Aaditya Thackeray (son of Uddhav Thackeray). Eknath Shinde, Diwakar Raote, and Subhash Desai were also part of this delegation.

Aaditya Thackeray also took to Twitter to share the minutes of the meeting and expressed his optimism regarding the governor’s assurance.

Previously, Devendra Fadnavis had also met governor BS Koshyari on October 28 separately. It has been speculated that the differences between two parties- BJP and Shiv Sena is growing with every single day.

The bone of contention between the two parties is the post of the Chief Minister. Shiv Sena is pushing for implementing the 50:50 formula, according to which the CM post will be shared between the two parties on a rotational basis, while BJP is willing to retain only  Devendra Fadnavis as CM.
