Mamata Banerjee is back again with her criticism over demonetisation. She wrote on a social media site that, seven months back, when she had voiced her concern regarding the ‘note bandi’, it was not without any basis. She further said that, she had well in advance warned about the severe loss of jobs and drastic decline in productivity due to demonetisation that the country would have to face due to demonetisation.
She said that her warning has now proven to be true with 2% drop in GDP. She further added that as per the Q4 data, GDP figure for this fiscal year has come down to 6.1%. Whereas corresponding GDP figure in the previous fiscal was 7.9%, marking a decline of 2%. Excessive job loss has been reported across the country with the agriculture and unorganized sector in worst shape.
Mamata Banerjee has questioned the government and the people responsible for ‘note bandi’, that what they have to say regarding the decline in GDP and other effects of demonetisation.
