West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee‘s mass outreach program “Didi Ke Bolo” has successfully received an appealing response of 10 lakh people, who reached out to the campaign for registering their complaints.

The “Didi Ke Bolo” campaign is a public outreach program of first of its kind in the state where the citizens can register their grievances about the administration and policy issues. Owing to its massive success within a month of its launch, Mamata Banerjee took to the social media and thanked all her supporters for such an amazing response.

In a Facebook post addressed to the public, Chief Minister wrote, “I am humbled with the overwhelming response of the people on the Didi Ke Bolo platform. In the last 30 days, over 10 Lakh people have reached out to us with their words of appreciation for the initiative, valuable suggestions, and grievances.”

She also said that she will try to solve everyone’s grievances in a timely manner. It has been reported that as part of the Didi Ke Bolo initiative, around 500 Trinamool Congress MLAs and senior leaders carried various outreach programs in 1,022 villages. ‘Jan Sangjog Sabhas’ was held by them, where these leaders met the locals and interacted with them regarding their problems. The campaign is being handled by a team of 250-members on a continuous mode.

The program is said to be the brainchild of Prahant Kishore, who was recently appointed by Trinamool Congress to improve its profile in the state, after an “average” performance in Lok Sabha elections of 2019. The main idea is to restrict the growing stature of Bhartiya Janta Party in West Bengal.

To counter Mamta Banerjee, BJP had also announced to initiate its ‘Dada Ke Bolun’ campaign involving BJP’s state chief Dilip Ghosh.
