Taking a strong cognizance against the anti-muslim remarks made by Union Minister Maneka Gandhi, District Magistrate of UP’s Sultanpur on Saturday issued show cause notice to BJP leader. She has been asked to furnish response for her alleged anti-muslim remarks while addressing a rally in Sultanpur, from where she is contesting the mega polls 2019.
BJP‘s Gandhi allegedly said on camera that if Muslim won’t vote for her then she would not be responsive towards the community.
A report of this has also been sent to the Poll Body, sources said.
An Additional Chief Election Officer BR Tiwari as reportedly said, “Taking strong cognisance of the matter, District Magistrate, Sultanpur has issued a show-cause notice to the BJP Leader and a report has been sent to the Election Commission.”

While asserting her confident of victory in the mega polls, BJP leader while addressing a rally in Turabkhani village She made the ‘anti-muslim’ remarks.
She said, ‘After elections, If any Muslim come to me asking for work, then I will think let it be, After all, a giving job is also a deal,” she said, while adding that Muslims here need to understand that she is not like others who will work for everyone without getting their support.

Her alleged ‘anti-Muslims’ comments gave an opportunity to who had on Friday lodged a complaint against the Union Minister to the Election Commission.
A High-level Congress delegation comprising Ahmed Patel, KC Venugopal, Jairam Ramesh, Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Randeep Surjewala and Shaktisinh Gohil, met the ECI officials and requested immediate action.
Surjewala speaking to media after meeting ECI, said that the party demanded that an FIR registered against Maneka and cancel her nomination, Surjewala said.
Responding to the controversy BJP Nominee from Mathura Hema Malini said, ‘On triple talaq issue many minority community women support us but even if they don’t, you have to help everybody, doesn’t matter who voted for us & who did not. This kind of feeling doesn’t come to me. Everybody is different‘.

Maneka Gandhi in a run-up the national elections 2019 has been named by the party from Sultanpur, a seat represented by his son Varun Gandhi.
