Bahujan Samajwadi Party Supremo, on Friday, alleged that the Central government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi have ended the importance of the national broadcasting channels.
Mayawati said that the public broadcasting channels Doordarshan and Akashwani has been virtually reduced to “His Modi Voice”. She also added that the independent journalists, writers and authors are being targeted by the ruling government, they don’t feel safe to speak or write freely. She further added this fatal ideology of the ruling government is day by day becoming dangerous for the democracy of India.
Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Mayawati in a statement said that “The BJP government in the Centre has made Doordarshan and Akashwani as ‘His Modi Voice’, and ended their importance. By indirect control on the private media channels, efforts are being made to end their independence. Apart from this, independent writers, authors and journalists are being targeted, which is known to all.”
