Bahujan Same Party chief Mayawati lashed out at Yogi Adityanath led BJP government in UP and alleged them of putting saffron agenda over the interest of UP people. This statement comes a day after clashes over casteism killed one person and injured over 15 in Saharanpur yesterday.
Through the BSP party release, Mayawati said that saffron appeasement has increased at such high levels in UP after the formation of BJP government that violence and playing with law and order has become a common thing. She further expressed her concerns over the growing tension and asked the government to work towards restoring peace in the region.
After communal clashes, the state has started to see more and more casteist clashes and that can not be termed right. Mayawati also alleged BJP workers to take advantage of their party in power and said this needs to be stopped in order to expect general public to believe in the government.
The clash in Saharanpur reportedly started when 20-25 youth of upper cast were carrying out a procession. Some Dalits objected to the loud music being played on speakers and that broke out the clash, killing one and injuring over 15.
