Former Jammu and Kashmir and PDP Leader Mehbooba Mufti on Friday congratulated Nirmala Sitharaman on being appointed as the first full-time Finance Minister of the Country. Taking to Twitter, Former Jammu and Kashmir CM Mufti said that that Sitharaman has shattered the glass ceiling of all means.
“Congratulations to @nsitharaman on her new role as Finance Minister. As the first woman to helm this crucial portfolio full time, she’s shattered the glass ceiling by all means”, said PDP Leader Mehbooba Mufti who once ran a coalition government with BJP in the valley.

Nirmala Sitharaman who held Defence portfolio in Narendra Modi‘s previous government, this time is inducted with a Finance Portfolio. She replaced BJP Stalwart Arun Jaitley who opted out of Cabinet race citing his health issues.
Narendra Modi on Thursday allocated portfolios to all ministers who took oath on Thursday in an official function in Delhi. He made crucial changes replacing Rajnath Singh with Amit Shah for Home Ministry Rajnath Singh has been appointed as the next Defence Minister replacing Nirmala Sitharaman.
Nirmala Sitharaman is the only woman in Narendra Modi’s Top Four. Other Top 3 in Modi Cabinet 2.0 are Home Minister and close aide of PM Modi, Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Minister S Jaishankar.
Nirmala Sithraman’s biggest achievement as the Defence Minister who the Balakot Air Strikes who was done after Pulwama Terror Attack that claimed lives of over 40 CRPF Jawans. During her tenure as Defence Minister, she was also in the news headlines for having a bitter spat with Opposition and Rahul Gandhi over Rafale Issue.
Sitharaman joined Bharatiya Janata Party in the year 2008 as a National Executive Member and in 2010 she was appointed as a national spokesperson.
Sitharaman who is inducted as Finance Minister will present the First Budget of this Government of July 5.
The government had in February this year presented an Interim Budget.

Prior to this Indira Gandhi held Finance Portfolio in 1970 being the PM, but Sitharaman is first full-fledged Finance Minister of the Country.
