Jammu and Kashmir CM Mehbooba Mufti today met prime minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and spoke about various ways to tackle the increasing tension in the state. After the meeting, the chief minister spoke to the media where she hinted that there will be measures taken in order to  establish peace within the state.

She also said that any kind of talks will take place only after normalcy is established in the state. Though there was no mention about who would the other party for the talks. Earlier today, while meeting PM, she invoked Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s policy on Kashmir, hinting that the talks will be with separatists.

After meeting the home minister, Mehbooba Mufti said that the next few months will be crucial for the government and people of Jammu and Kashmir. Next few months will see a change in the situation of the state and then the talks with separatists could be initiated. She was firm that incidents like stone-pelting on security forces needs to be stopped. At the meeting with Rajnath Singh, she also briefed him about the law and order situation in the state and showed her concern about increasing incidents against Kashmiris living in various parts of the country.
