What could bring the fresh tussle between the Mamata Banerjee and Central Government, the Union Home Ministry on Wednesday issued a show-cause notice to Rujira Naroola, the wife of Trinamool Congress MP and nephew of TMC Supremo Mamata Banerjee, Abhishek Banerjee.
The Central Ministry accused Naroola for allegedly submitting false documents to get Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) and PAN card.
The Central ministry has asked Abhishek Banerjee’s to furnish the reply as why she “concealed material facts” in her application that seeks to obtain OCI and PAN.

These came days after the BJP led Centre submitted before the Top Court that West Bengal cops ‘intimidated’ custom officers at Kolkata Airport on Monday after they (Custom Officials) held Naroola for carrying excessive gold without prior declarations.
The Custom Officials have made a complaint against Naroola, in return, Narool filed a counter-Complaint.
The Centre during the hearing of Shardha Chit Fund Scam asserted that there is complete anarchy in the TMC-ruled West Bengal. The Top Court had asked the Solicitor General to file an application on the issue.
It should be noted that the ruling Saffron Party who has been in loggerheads with TMC and Mamata Banerjee led Government in West Bengal have asked the Poll panel to conduct the polls under Central Forces alleging West Bengal Cops working for TMC.
However, TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee termed all this fabricated and false. He said all this are done with an intention to malign his image.
