Home Minister Rajnath Singh held a meeting with his ministry officials today, to review the expenditure done in the first quarter of the financial year 2017-18. The total budget passed for this year is Rs 83,823.30 crore.

Minister of state for home Hansraj Gangaram Ahir, Union home secretary Rajiv Mehrishi, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Rajiv Gauba, Secretary, Border Management Sanjeevani Kutty, Special Secretary Rina Mitra and senior officers from all the divisions of the ministry attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Rajnath Singh said that the home ministry has utilised about 27 % of the total budget in the first three months (April-to-June, 2017) and advised his ministers to maintain the same tempo. In an official release, he told his ministers to ensure that 50% of the budget is utilised by the end of September.
