Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) Chief MK Stalin in a bid to chart out Lok Sabha Polls Strategies called a party meeting on March 11 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. DMK has sought attendance of its all MLAs and MPs. DMK General Secretary K Anbazhagan said that the party will also discuss the blueprint of by-polls to 21 Assembly seats.

DMK who had secure lion part in the mega-alliance has also called it District Secretaries apart from MLAs and MPs to make deliberations for the upcoming General Elections which are now just weeks away.

The party called a meeting days after it packed its alliance with all its 8 allies in the state. While the ruling AIADMK earlier also inked poll pact with Actor turned politician Vijayakanth’s Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK).

AIADMK Alliance: With KMDK entry, now the AIADMK led alliance will have – AIADMK, BJP, PMK, KMDK, Puthiya Neethi Katchi and NR Congress. BJP has been offered 5 seats, DMDK been settled for 4 seats, while PMK gets 7 Lok Sabha seats to field their candidates in the mega battle of ballots.

DMK Alliance: While MK Stalin led DMK has also finalized the alliance terms with all its 8 allies. The DMK will lead a Mega Opposition coalition in the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry comprising –  Congress, CPI(M)CPI, MDMK, VCK, IUML, KMDK and IJK.

The Congress has been allotted a big portion of seats among the DMK’s allies, with the Rahul Gandhi led party receiving nine seats in the state, and a single seat of Puducherry. While DMK has decided to field its candidates on 20 Lok Sabha seats. The DMK has allotted one seat each to the MDMK, IJK, IUML and the KMDK. It has also allotted the MDMK one Rajya Sabha seat, the election for which is scheduled for June.

All the ally parties have also expressed their support to the DMK for the by-polls to 21 Assembly seats in the state, which have been lying vacant for some time now.

Tamil Nadu has total 39 Lok Sabha Seats while Puducherry has a single Lok Sabha seat.
