Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on his four day tour to Portugal, the US and the Netherland from 24 June to 28 June. He attended a series of events organised by the Indians back there in America on Sunday. The Indian community extended their hospitality to the Prime Minister enthusiastically at every possible venue Modi was available.

He attended the a small conference organised by The Foundation for India and Indian Diaspora Studies (FIIDS). While addressing the people their Modi appreciated the works of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA) and the efforts taken by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. He said that the extra ordinary steps taken by Sushma Swaraj to reach out to Indian in need of help anywhere around the world is commendable.

Further lauding the External Affairs Minister, he said that the technology-driven changes in the working of the government has helped to reach to anyone in need and provide help and assistance to them. He said that It is now well known in India that when anyone in trouble tweets to Sushma, she promptly replies and the government takes prompt action.The Indian diaspora anywhere now has faith that their issues will be resolved.” He also added that this could be achieved only with the efforts taken by Sushma Swaraj and the members of Ministry of External Affairs.

He also said that “it is for everyone to see how the MEA has, in addition to their routine work, emerged as a strong humanitarian force for Indians globally”. He further urged Indian Diaspora to maintain the relations with India, so that the younger generation of the nation could be made aware of it. He also asked the Indian Diaspora that, if they wanted to give anything back to India, this is the best time to do so, in regard with talent technology and innovation.
