Congress leader Sanjay Nirupam, accused the Modi government for failing out on all its promises. During his visit to Raipur as a part of the Congress party campaign against the Modi government, Nirupam claimed that Modi government has failed on all fronts, including farmers’ issues, employment sector and border security. He also told that farmers are committing suicides everyday, youths are jobless and soldiers are being beheaded on the border.
Adding facts to his statement he said that, 13 farmers are committing suicide daily and there are reports of farmer suicides from Chhattisgarh also. As per the data, 12,360 farmers have committed suicide in 2014, 12,602 in 2015 and around 14,000 in 2016 during the Modi government. He also claimed that, National Food Security Mission, National Agriculture Development Scheme, national horticulture, agriculture export or traditional farming, every sector has suffered decline in growth in the past three years. He even commented on Narendra Modi‘s promise of providing jobs to two crore youth every year, but has also failed in that.
Further adding to the failures of the government, he also brought up the matter of recent raids and searches on the houses of opposition leaders calling it an act of political revenge to harass the opponents. He spoke about the raids on P Chidambarum and Lalu Prasad Yadav complaining that only the opposition leaders were being targeted. He also questioned why no action is being taken over Civil Supply scam and PDS scam in Chhattisgarh.
