The Parliament today looks no less than a saucy saas-bahu drama. While the debate on the no-confidence is going on in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi made some condemning remarks on the Prime Minister and BJP.

The debate began with Telugu Dasam Party’s MP moving the no-confidence motion against the BJP. He attacked the party for not fulfilling its promise of providing special status to Andhra Pradesh.

However, the whole nation is glued to their television sets, just to witness Rahul Gandhi, Congress chief and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speeches. The wait for Gandhi’s speech was over after TDP MP Jayadev Galla’s opening of the debate, Gandhi spoke next.

Gandhi launched into attack mode as soon as he got the chance to present his views. He said to TDP MP Galla, “You are the victim of a 21st-century political weapon and you are not the only one. The political weapon is called the ‘jumla strike’. The symptoms of the ‘jumla strike’ are a great sense of excitement, happiness, there is a feeling of shock and then there are 8-hour-long speeches.”

Referring to the Prime Minister and some of his “jumlas”, Gandhi said, “You said every person will get Rs 15 lakh – this is jumla No 1. You said two crore youth will get jobs every year, this is jumla No 2. In 2016-17, all over the country, four lakh people have got jobs according to the labour survey. The Indian youth had faith in the PM as in every speech of his he said he will give 2 crore jobs to the youth.”

He also attacked the PM and commented, “He cannot look into my eyes because he knows I am telling the truth.” On this remark, the PM can be seen smiling.

Defending his government, BJP MP Rakesh Singh said, “For 48 years, the Congress has done the politics of scams. In 48 months, we have governed with schemes.” He also added, “Manmohan Singh said minorities have the first right on country’s resources. However, PM Modi gave new direction by saying that first right on country’s resources is of the poor.”

Now the nation is waiting for the Prime Minister’s speech which will be the concluding one before the voting starts.
