Chief Minister Kamal Nath-led Madhya Pradesh Government on Wednesday presented State Budget for the Financial Year 2019-20. The Congress-led State Government proposed a budget of ₹132 crores for the promotion of cattle farming and livestock in the state’s budget.
The Government also decided to pay ₹20 per day instead of ₹1 for cow protection. State Finance Minister Tarun Bhanot presented the first Budget of the state government on Wednesday.

While in other announcements, the Congress government also allocated 1204 crore for Animal Husbandry Department with 230 crores earmarked for setting up Animal Hospital.
It should be noted that Kamal Nath’s government has been very sensitive towards cows protection ever since it stormed back to power in December last year. Earlier in January, the government announced to open 1000 gaushalas to provide shelter to over 1 lakh cows from the state.
Hailing the Budget Chief Minister Kamal Nath said, ‘The first budget presented today has been fully dedicated to farmers, youth, women as well as all sections of the society. It will be a totally populist, populist budget to set new dimensions of development in the State’.
In a series of tweet, Kamal Nath said, ‘For farmers, for employment, for women empowerment, for workers, for removing malnutrition, for building roads up to tahsil level, to develop model cities, to provide clean drinking water to all, for better education and health. , the tribal class’, he said in a tweet.
In another tweet, he said, ‘The budget has made significant provisions for a number of schemes of state interest including SC/ST, Backward Classes, Minorities, Gaushala construction without levying any new taxes. This will be a milestone in terms of development’.
