Dismissing the claims of BJP of being a minority government in the state, MP Chief Minister Kamal Nath on Monday said that he is ready to face a floor test in the state assembly to prove its majority.

Speaking to news agency ANI, Congress Stalwart and MP Chief Minister Kamal Nath accused Bharatiya Janata Party of making efforts to disrupt the Congress Government in the state. He said that he is ready to give a floor test once again.

‘Bharatiya Janata Party have been trying this since day 1. I have proved a majority at least 4 times in the last 5 months since we formed our government in December. They want to do it again, we have no problem. They will try their best to disturb present govt to save themselves from getting exposed. Govt is ready for a floor test’ said Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath as quoted ANI.

Kamal Nath’s reaction came hours after the saffron party in Madhya Pradesh claimed the state ruling Congress is in minority.

In a letter to the state governor Aanandiben Patel, Bharatiya Janata Party claimed that Kamal Nath-led Government in the state is in minority and requested to call a special session of the state assembly.

Congress had in December last year came to power after 15 years. In state polls that held in December last year, Congress fell short of a majority by 2 seats. Congress ended up with 114 seats in 230 assembly seat state. However, with the support of the BSP and Samajwadi Party, it is currently in power.

Bhartiya Janta Party won 109 seats while BSP, Samajwadi Party, and Independent won 2, 1 and 4 seats.

The development comes a day after almost all exit polls on Sunday predicted Prime Minister Narendra Modi to return in power.

Most of the exit polls predicted a clear Majority to Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) with above 300 seats.

Reacting on the Exit Polls, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister said these Exit Polls will once again prove to be wrong. They are just for the entertainment of the BJP.
