Congress might finally get lucky in Madhya Pradesh after being out of power for last 3 terms. According to ABP-Cvoter survey, the grand old party is all set to dethrone Shivraj Singh Chauhan to gain power in the upcoming assembly elections.

BJP has been in power since 2003 in Madhya Pradesh, however, if the opinion poll is to be believed, Congress finds itself in a strong position to form a government in the 230 member assembly. However, the campaign period might turn tables for either party, as the vote share between the two isn’t significant.

In the upcoming Madhya Pradesh assembly elections, Indian National Congress is predicted to get 42.2% vote share, whereas, BJP might get 41.5% votes. Despite Congress winning on vote share, Shivraj Singh Chouhan remains the first choice to become chief minister, yet again.

Talking of the number of seats, Congress is shown to be winning 122 seats, whereas, BJP will get 108 seats in the 230 member assembly, which rules out any chances for independents or other parties like BSP, SAPAKS, and independent candidates. In the last elections held in 2013, BJP had won 165 seats, compared to Congress’ 58.

Election Commission has announced that the elections in Madhya Pradesh will be held on 28th November and the result will be announced on 11th December with the results of 4 other states.
