Most of the exit polls in Madhya Pradesh is predicting stiff coming between both the major political players. Though some of them are backing Congress in 230 assembly seat state while very few have favored the incumbent Shivraj Singh Chauhan led BJP. As we all know about the Chief Ministerial Candidate from Ruling Party, but what makes a buzz across the political discussion is ‘Who will be given the charge in State’ if Congress is voted to power’?

The Grand Old Party has never declared a Chief Minister Candidate in any state before the results, following the same tradition and to combat factionalism the Congress has not named anyone as its CM prospect Candidate in Central State too! Factionalism within the party is also a major cause that has kept party away from the power for the last 15 years in the state.

The Frontrunners for the Chief Minister Post in the state includes, Congress Stalwart and State Congress Chief Kamal Nath and other is party’s MP from Guna and Congress Campaign Chief Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Both the Congress leaders represent two different generation of Indian Politics.

Kamal Nath

He is one of the longest-serving members of Lok Sabha, the bastion of state party president. Former General Secretary of the party was first elected to Lok Sabha in 1980. Kamal Nath has everything under his – experience, politics that Congress must be looking in the Chief Minister of the state where the party is likely coming back to power after 15 years of BJP rule.

Kamal Nath in the past has held many responsibilities on his shoulder and all this strongly tilt the argument in favor of him. Kamal Nath is quite popular and decades-old face in the state.

State Poll Campaign in the Kamal Nath’s Chhindhwara has seen Posters asking the voters to elect Kamal Nath as the next Chief Minister the state. His Supporters also took to Twitter many times and #Hasgtag with ‘Kamal Nath Next MP CM’ trended.

Jyotiraditya Scindia

He belongs to erstwhile royal family Scindia who once ruled the Gwalior. Son of Congress leader Madhorao Scindia, Jyotiraditya Scindia is the current Campaign Chief of the party that has managed the Congress Electioneering in a run-up to unseat the incumbent Shivraj Singh Chauhan led Government.

Scindia is someone who has been quite vocal against the Shivraj Led Government since he took the charge as the Campaign Chief early this year. It is only because of Jyotiraditya Scindia that party has managed to expand its voter base among youths, which is also quite visible in exit polls.

Supporters of Jyotiraditya Since also trended ‘Scindia as the next CM’ a day after former was trended on Twitter.

Another face who is not seen much in the race is the Former Chief Minister of the State and Party Stalwart Digvijay Singh. Digvijay Singh served as the Chief Minister in the state for 10 years from 1993 to 2003.

Well, it will be interesting to see who will get the chance to rule the state if Congress voted to power. At the same time, it will be a hardball to play for the Congress ‘High Command’ to choose any one while sideling other.

The counting in the state is scheduled for December 11 along with other state assembly elections.

The 230 assembly seat state went to polls on November 28 in a single phase of polling.
