Rajya Sabha Parliamentarians from Congress, Bharatiya Janata Party, Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and Shiv Sena on Wednesday have Zero Hour notice over different Issues.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Gopal Narayan Singh gave a Zero Hour Notice in Rajya Sabha over “severe drought in south Bihar and heavy floods in north Bihar”, reported ANI. However, this is not the first time that the heavy floods of Bihar have become an issue been raised by MP in the Rajya Sabha.
Last week, Janata Dal (United) Member of Parliament Ram Nath Thakur had given a Zero hour Notice in Rajya Sabha to ‘declare floods in Bihar as a national calamity’. Prior to this, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), MP Manoj Jha gave a Zero Hour notice in the Rajya Sabha over the issue of floods across the state and country.
If government records to be believed over 25 lakh people have been affected by the flood in the state that spread over 12 districts. According to Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar, at least 33 people have lost their lives due to floods all over the state.
Apart from this, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut has given Zero Hour Notice in Rajya Sabha over “delay in the production of Vande Bharat Express”. While the Congress MP Ripun Bora gave the notice in the Upper House of Parliament over the revival of Jagiroad and Panchgram paper mill under Hindustan paper corporation.

While the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) MP Nazir Ahmad Laway has given Zero Hour Notice in Rajya Sabha over ‘problems of Jammu and Kashmir migrants’.
The Zero House of the Rajya Sabha refers to the time immediately following the Question Hour, where Parliamentarians can raise issues of great importance without the mandatory 10 days advance notice.
The Session of the Upper House of the Parliament, Rajya Sabha, started from June 20 and will continue till July 26.
