Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Mukul Roy claimed that the registration of Trinamool Congress (TMC) should be canceled for encouraging the Bangladeshi actors, Ferdous Ahmed and Gazi Abdun Noor to campaign for the TMC in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal. Mukul Roy has written to the Election Commission of India (ECI) to bar TMC from contesting the elections as it violated the provisions of the election of not taking foreign support.

The BJP leader claimed that he has written to the Chief Election Officer that Trinamool Congress should not be recognized as a political party. He urged the commission to take notice of the Bangladeshi actors, campaigning for TMC Ferdous Ahmed and Gazi Abdun Noor. He sought the direction of the EC claiming that no foreign hand should be allowed to meddle with the democracy of our country.

The visas of the two actors were canceled after the campaign came into the light. Ferdous Admed was campaigning for TMC’s Raigunj candidate while Abdun Noor was seen campaigning for TMC’s Dum Dum candidate.

Mukul Roy also claimed that he requested prime minister Narendra Modi to contest the elections from West Bengal owing to the threat to the democracy in the state. He said that the position of Bengal currently is what Bihar used to be like 10 years ago.

In the wake of the 2019 Lok Sabha Elections, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have indulged in many word fights over the issues in Bengal.
