Ruling Naga People’s Front (NPF) has been an old ally of BJP and also is a part of ruling Democratic Alliance of Nagaland. Differences arose between the two parties when a faction of the NPF party alleged BJP for provoking rebellion in NPF.
Nagaland has been witnessing quite a few changes in its ministers in the past years and again a change in the Chief Minister is likely. Regarding this, an emergency meeting was called and the during the meeting of the Central Executive Council, Central Office Bearers, Division Presidents and frontal organisation office bearers of the NPF at Kohima, the leaders questioned the Governor for providing undue favors to the dissident legislators.
NPF party members are of the opinion that the Governor has misused, abused and tarnished Raj Bhawan to favor rebellion within the NPF. The members even resolved to approach the President immediately to call upon the Governor so that the sanctity of the gubernatorial Office in the State is maintained in future.
In a statement to the press, NPF said that “NPF also resolves to appeal to the Speaker of Nagaland Legislative Assembly to rise above political considerations and continue to be the very embodiment of propriety and impartiality. “
