Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be celebrating his birthday on 17 September and to mark his day with his mission of a clean India is the best way to make his day special.

17 Sep will be celebrated as the Seva Divas, people from all over India will be encouraged to participate in the campaign and give their contribution by engaging in different clean India activities. Also to celebrate the third anniversary of Swachh Bharat, the central government has planned a series of events which will be seen in different parts of the country.

The Prime Minister will be making an appeal to the people on Sunday to share their “Shramdhaan for Swachhta,” photographs on MyGov. in. On his birthday the government’s official media broadcasting company, DD will be telecasting Toilet Ek Prem Katha, starring Akshay Kumar, movie that stresses on the importance of toilets and sanitation. The prime Minister in his last radio broadcasting show, Mann ki Baat‘  had stressed on the importance of cleanliness and the need of Swachh Bharat.

President Ram Nath Kovind will be beginning the Swachh Bharat 3.0 from Kanpur under which the public halls, bus stands, toilets, cinema halls, railway stations and much more places will be cleaned.

Ministers of all the states have been sent a notice to submit their plan of action to the PMO office on they are planning to take forward the Swachhta hi Seva campaign. After Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed office, he had started the clean Indian campaign in 2015. Under the banner of Samagra Swachhta, the Centre has planned to undertake 5 types of activities to promote the aim of achieving a clean India. This will be the third phase of the campaign launched by Modi back in 2015.

The first phase of the campaign was about raising general awareness amongst the people about the importance of cleanliness. cleaning of important cities including Varanasi. The second phase focused on the cleaning of river fronts. According to the government officials, the third phase will mainly be focussed on creating awareness through digital methods. Essay and painting competitions were also held across India to spread the importance of cleanliness and  2 Oct National Swacch Bharat awards will be distributed to the winners.
