Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will be arriving at Ahmedabad on Sep 13 for his two-day visit to India, to attend the 12th India-Japan annual summit.

Massive preparations are being done for the grand welcome of the Japanese Prime Minister. He will be directly landing at the Ahmedabad airport and from there on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will begin with the 8 km long road show culminating at the Sabarmati Ashram.

Gujarat BJP unit president Jitubhai Vaghani giving the details of the preparations done, to the reporters said that “This is for the first time in the country when our prime minister along with the prime minister of another country is doing a joint road show. The Japanese PM is landing here directly on September 13. This makes the occasion more important, as he is visiting a state on the very first day of his India visit.” He further added that a grand welcome will be given to the Japanese PM all along the route of the road show.

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s standing committee chairman Pravin Patel telling the itinerary of the shows arranged said that singing troops and dancers will be performing at 28 different locations all along the 8 km long road show. Both the leaders during the road show will also be passing through the Sabarmati Riverfront. Patel informed that 28 small stages are made on different locations where dancers from 28 different states showcasing the costumes and cultures of all the states in India will be performing in their traditional attire.

Following the road show, both the leaders will be visiting the Sabarmati Ashram.

In the evening Narendra Modi and Shinzo Abe will be visiting the historic and iconic Sidi Saiyyed Mosque in the eastern part of the city popular in the entire world for the stone lattice work. Both the leaders will also see a presentation there about the city’s heritage. Following the presentation both the PM’s will be having dinner hosted by the Agashiye restaurant located near the mosque.

Further giving the details of the schedule for the Japanese PM’s two-day visit, Pravin Patel said that on 14 Sep Narendra Modi along with his Japanese counter part will be attending the ceremony for the ambitious Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Project, commonly referred to as the Bullet Train project.

Following this ceremony later in the evening both the leaders will then hold the 12th India-Japan annual summit at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.
