Prime Minister Narendra Modi has previously embarked on various national visits to many countries all over the world, bringing tidings and good intentions from India. On the 11th of May, the PM is once again expected to visit the State of Nepal after friendly beckoning from K. P. Sharma Oli, the Prime Minister of Nepal. This will be yet another attempt to strengthen India Nepal Relations.

Going by the tweets of the official account of the Indian Embassy based in Kathmandu, the Indian Foreign Minister of Nepal Pradeep Kuman Gyawali had been accompanied by the Indian-Nepalese envoy Manjeev Singh Puri as he flew to Janakpur to make the final arrangements regarding the PM’s visit on Friday. The Embassy explained that Narendra Modi would be flying to Nepal in the Hindustan Aeronautics’ Advanced Light Helicopter which had been gifted to the Nepal Army by the former back in 2014.

Excluding other minor unofficial visits to the country, this tour is believed to be PM Modi’s first high-level major visit to Nepal on behalf of India following the establishment of the new Government in Nepal.

During his stay in the country, Modi is expected to engage in political discussions with his counterpart Prime Minister Oli, take part in conferences with the high members of the Nepali Parliament and speak about mutually benefiting topics.

Besides the diplomatic objective of this trip, Narendra Modi is also expected to visit Muktinath, a city of historic significance, and pay a visit to the 200-year-old temple in the region to offer his respects.
