The third annual meeting of governing council of Niti Aayog, got over with a lot of promises and hopes for the future. The council, headed by the Prime Minister and attended by chief ministers of almost all the states, spoke highly of the vision of next 15 years in which, Niti Aayog, India’s premiere planning body, aims to make India a new nation.

The new India according to Niti Aayog, will see every Indian with a house, a vehicle, air conditioners and digital connectivity before the end of 2032. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had abolished five year plan, which was going on since independence. The new plan has a broader guideline for India’s development till 2031-2032.

The plan, named as The India 2031-32: Vision, Strategy and Action Agenda also sees a fully literate society along with access to world class healthcare for everyone. It also sees a wider and modern network of connected ways including road, water ways and airways. A clean India with access to pure air and water for everyone seems to be in house, if Niti Aayog’s optimism is to be believed.

The growth of India’s GDP and per capita income is expected to rise steeply. With per capita income expected to rise three-fold to 3.14 lakh in 2031-2032 from 1.06 lakh currently. GDP of the country is also expected to reach 469 lakh crores in 2032, compared to 137 lakh crore in 2015-2016.

The combined expenditure by state and central government is also expected to rise to 130 lakh crores in 2031-32 from 38 crores in 2015-16.
