Jonathone Sangma, a Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) competitor in the Meghalaya Assembly decision, was shot dead by obscure attackers Sunday.

Boss Minister Mukul Sangma communicated profound bitterness and promised to make quick move.

Sangma, the hopeful from Williamnagar, was shot at the East Garo Hills area, alongside two of his guardians. His escort was allegedly trapped in a presumed IED impact at Samanda, while he was coming back from a battle meeting.

Sangma as of late joined the NCP, and was challenging against Congress serve Deborah C Marak.

Boss Minister Mukul Sangma reported the passing of Jonathone Nengminza Sangma (43) on Twitter. In any case, state DGP S B Singh revealed to The Indian Express there was no affirmation that the competitor had kicked the bucket.

Neighborhood media had before revealed that a unidentified gathering had set up publications at a few places in Williamnagar voting public undermining to murder any individual who upheld or voted in favor of Jonathone N Sangma. The nine applicants at the seat incorporate sitting Congress MLA and clergyman Deborah C Marak, and four Independents. Voting is on February 27.
