NCP President Satish Jaggi (left), quits the party, joins Congress

Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president of Chhattisgarh, Satish Jaggi has quit the party and joined Congress. He was inducted in the party on Saturday Morning in the presence of Congress President Rahul Gadhi in Ambikapur.

Jaggi had succeeded Vidyacharan Shukla as party President. He had been on this designation for a long time.

Among other congress leaders that were present were T S Singhdev, P L Punia and Charandas Mahant.

Earlier, in October the NCP had announced to contest the elections in 40 seats in the state. It had issued the first list of 13 candidates for the Chhattisgarh assembly elections where Thaneshwar Sahu from Bilaspur has been made the candidate.

Vishal Gadhewal from Masturi, Suresh Kingley from Belatara, Nikhad Ram Nishad from Bilhash, Rameshwar Kemvat from Takhatpur, Ramkhelavan Maravi from Pratappur, Ram Rai from Ramanujganj, Manish Singh from Bhatgaon, Chakradhari Singh Kanwar from Lundra, Rajni Ekka from SItapur, Lakshman Ram Khalko from Samari, Siyaram Toppo from Pathalgaon and Satyendra Kumar Mishra from Baikunthpur.
