After an unusual political development in the Maharashtra, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar was expelled as the legislative party leader of the party on Saturday.

According to the reports, Ajit Pawar‘s right to issue whip and all other rights have also been taken away from him. As of now, the Nationalist Congress Party party has not selected any Legislative party leader. Party has said that the NCP chief Jayant Patil will be having all the constitutional rights till the next legislature party leader is selected.
Ajit Pawar had supported the Bhartiya Janta Party in forming the government in the state. Devendra Fanavis and Ajit Pawar took their oaths and were sworn in as Chief Minister and Deputy Minister respectively. The oath of office and secrecy was administered by the state Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari at Raj Bhavan.
The development comes at an important time when the Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena alliance was already on the verge to sort out their issues and come out with a conclusive announcement.
The Congress-NCP-Shiv Sena alliance have even moved a petition in the court to oppose the government formation.

Speaking to the media, Congress leader KC Venugopal said that the governor had ignored the laws and procedures.

Reacting to the news, Congress party termed the date of November 23 as “Black Day“. Randeep Surjewala spoke in front of the media expressing the stand of his party.

The BJP which emerged as the single-largest party in the elections failed to form the government as its ally Shiv Sena did not go on board with the party’s CM post. Therefore now the saffron party has come with Ajit Pawar-led NCP group to form the government.
