Next President should believe in RSS ideology : BJP & RSS

Both the ruling and the opposition parties have geared up to fight the contest for the President Election due in July. The non-NDA parties are coming up together on a joint platform unitedly to nominate a candidate against the NDA for President post. NDA is also making all possible efforts to get majority of support for their candidate. Though none of the sides have formally announced their candidates yet.

BJP chief, Amit Shah has appointed a three-member committee to reach out to all BJP like minded political parties and discuss about building a consensus on the candidate to become the next President of India. The contest between the ruling and the opposition is inevitable as, BJP and RSS feels that the next President should be someone, who would follow the RSS ideology, and obviously the opposition would not support any such candidate.

The NDA is likely to announce its candidate by June 23, before PM Narendra Modi leaves on his US visit. The notification for presidential election will be out on Wednesday and the last date for filing nominations is June 28.

The three member committee comprising of Rajnath Singh, Arun Jaitley and M Venkaiah Naidu, will be focusing on NDA partners and parties like BJD, factions of AIADMK, YSR Congress and TRS and the Shiv Sena, which has not voted with the NDA in the last two elections, hoping for support this time.

A BJP party leader said that the final decision will be taken by PM Narendra Modi and Amit Shah as to who will be the candidate, and the nominee will likely be announced by 23 June.
