Nishad Party Leader and MP from UP’s Gorakhpur Praveen Nishad joined Bharatiya Janata Party on Thursday in the presence of Union Minister and Senior Party Leader JP Nadda ahead of the national elections. The Nishad Party has also announced to support Bharatiya Janata Party in the upcoming Lok Sabha Polls 2019.

The addition of Nishad Party in BJP-led Alliance is seen as a big boost for the alliance as the former has a stronghold among nishad community of the caste-ridden state of Uttar Pradesh.

Praveen Nishad, son of Nishad party chief Sanjay Nishad had won the Gorakhpur by-election in 2018 as a Samajwadi party candidate banking on BSP‘s support. He had defeated BJP‘s, Upendra Shukla.

Bharatiya Janata Party in a run-up to the general elections in Uttar Pradesh has only forged an alliance with Anupriya Patel’s Apna Dal (Sonelal) and has offered two seats.

If Sources to be believed Bharatiya Janata Party may pitch him from Bhadoi Parliamentary Seat in national elections 2019. BJP has already declared its candidates on 65 candidates.

The Development came days after Nishad Party quit Mahagathbandhna comprising SP-BSP-RLD following a tussle over a parliamentary seat. Reportedly, Samajwadi party wanted Nishad party to contest the national elections on its electoral symbol of ‘Cycle’.

The move, however, irked the Nishad party which later announced its pullout from the opposition Grand Alliance on March 29, two days after joining.

There was a conflict between the two parties on Maharajganj Lok Sabha Seat as Nishad Party wanted to contest with its own party symbol whereas Samajwadi Party was not ready for it.

Later, hours after announcing its pullout from the Grand Alliance, Sanjay Nishad, chief of the party met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath dropping a hint of joining BJP-Led alliance in Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier, On March 27, Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav had announced that Nishad Party and Janvadi Party (Socialist) has joined trucks with UP’s Mahagathbandhan (Grand Alliance) for the upcoming battle of ballots.

Samajwadi Party who has forged an alliance with BSP on 37:38 seat formula has declared Ram Bhuwal Nishad as its candidate for Lok Sabha Polls 2019 from Gorakhpur Lok Sabha Seat from where Praveen Nishad is an outgoing MP.

General Elections are slated for April-May this year that would spread on Seven Phases starting from April 11 to May 19. Uttar Pradesh which has a total of 80 seats will go to polls in all seven phases starting from April 11.

Counting of votes will take place on May 23, four days after the final round of Polling.
