A few days back Gujarat had installed an air monitoring and warning system to make the people aware of the growing problem of air pollution and fight against it. Air pollution is becoming a major threat to mankind and many steps are being taken to reduce the pollution and keep a check on it.

Recently Niti Aayog has set up four task forces to prepare a roadmap for reducing pollution levels in the country. The four zones covered will be transport, biofuels, industries and air and the force will be headed by Niti Aayog’s CEO, Amitabh Kant. Officials of the ministries of transport, environment and petroleum, Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) will also be the members of the force.

According to an official, the task force will be submitting a detailed report, which will be sent to the Central government for further discussion. The report will be highlighting the action plan and the deadlines to reach the goal. After the approval of the Central Government, the plan will be executed nationally.
