While addressing all the BJD (Biju Janta Dal) legislators and parliamentarians in the state assembly in Odisha, Kovind said that no language or state would be neglected if he becomes president.  The BJD has 117 MLAs in Odisha’s 147 member assembly, 20 Lok Sabha, and eight Rajya Sabha MPs. Bhubaneshwar CM, Naveen Patnaik, introduced Ram Nath Kovind to all his colleagues and praised him. He said that Kovind is the finest example who depicts the transitions that India has gone through. He is symbolic of the new aspiring Indian. His path reflects the strength of our Constitution which guarantees every Indian the right to dream big, irrespective of caste, creed or religion. Like India, his journey started from a village in North India and now he is NDA’s candidate for the presidential poll.

Later Kovind met all the BJP leaders of the state and had lunch at Patnaik’s residence after the meeting.
