While addressing a press conference in Patna, the Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, praised the ambitious Prime Minister, saying that “three years back who knew that Modi Ji would be the Prime Minister.” He also mentioned that Modi is an ambitious and capable man who deserves to be where he is and the people elected him to be in power. He also states that he lacks the capabilities to compete as prime ministerial candidate in the General Elections in 2019. Mentioning that he is a leader of a regional party, he cleared that he had no national ambitions.

He also added that Sharad Yadav, had been the party president for three consecutive years and then passed on his responsibilities to him, for which the media linked him with having national ambitions. He said that JD(U) is a small regional party and as the party president he will try to expand JD(U) to other states but that does not mean that he dreamt of being the Prime Minister.

Also, he did not add anything of relevance regarding the matter of allegations of corruption against Lalu Yadav whose Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is a partner in the ruling coalition in Bihar, preferring to be quiet he just said that “it’s on Laluji to reply to the allegations leveled by the BJP. I have nothing to say. If anyone has the proof, they should go to the court.”

Regarding the upcoming Presidential election, which is scheduled to take place in June, the CM just said that “first of all the ruling party should try to form a consensus. It would be the best possible option. If it does not happen then the opposition parties should come up with a candidate,” refusing to indicate anything.
