Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajya Sabha MP and national vice-president Om Mathur, after affirming BJP’s win in 2019 Lok Sabha elections said that the draft National Register of Citizens(NRC) will be implemented across the whole country after the 2019 general polls, reported PTI.

Mathur’s statement comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s interview to ANI where he reassured that no Indian citizen would be left out of the NRC list, and those who have not been included will be given chances to address their complaints.

Mathur said that India will not become a “dharamshala” for Bangladeshi “infiltrators”. Reiterating PM Modi, he also said that no Indians will be extricated from the country over NRC list, reported ANI.

BJP national VP commented, “We will win in 2019. NRC has now been executed only in Assam under the Supreme Court’s direction, but we will implement it across the country.”

He told the reporters in Jhunjhunu district, “The country will not be allowed to become a Dharamshala. Infiltrators will be ousted legally. No Indian citizen will be thrown out.”

Mathur said that the whole country is suffering because of the problem of Bangladeshi infiltrators. There is no single town or city exempted from Bangladeshi infiltrators.

He added that the Assam NRC has been formed on the directions of the Supreme Court. It was not an initiative of the BJP government.

Targeting Congress President Rahul Gandhi, BJP veteran leader said that NRC was an initiative of the then Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and then Rajiv Gandhi; accused Rahul Gandhi of not being loyal to his family as in the 10 years rule of the Congress, he failed to implement the NRC.
