The NDA candidate Ram Nath Kovind for the Presidential Polls is in Hyderabad for his election campaign. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao along with other party members and few TRS and BJP leaders had organised a meeting with Kovind.

During the meeting Kovind said that since he became the Governor of Bihar, he did not belong to any party, he has functioned as non-partisan ever since and will continue to be non-partisan, if he assumes office as a President.

“The country and the entire world is well aware of the supremacy of the Indian Constitution and Indian democracy. As we know, the Constitution…our country is supreme,” he said.

He also told that the office of a President was above any politics or political parties and he pledged to uphold the constitution and the post above any party politics.

He further added that he will work for the overall development of the country regardless of caste, color, religion, language or geographical situations. Kovind said that he will work towards fulfilling the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of setting up a new India by 2022, when India completes 75 years of independence. He said that he will work to fulfill the aspirations of the youth, which will ultimately help in setting the dream India of the Prime Minister.

He thanked K Chandrasekhar Rao for putting up hoarding of him and Kovind and extending a warm welcome. He also expressed his gratitude to the CM when he spoke in Hindi during the meeting.

Apart from members of TRS and BJP, Kovind also met members of TDP’s Telangana unit the YSR Congress.
