Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday inaugurated the 15th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas at Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. Speaking on the event, the Prime Minister said that NRIs can play a great role in the startup, stand up and in Defence manufacturing sector while working for the development of India. PM Modi added that his government has taken many steps for the benefit of Indian Diaspora and many more initiatives are in progress for NRIs. He said the government will help NRIs in every possible manner.

PM Modi added that the Government is going to start Pravasi Teerth Darshan Yojna.

“Today, India is in the position to lead the world in several subjects. International Solar Alliance (ISA) is one such platform. Through this medium, we want to take the world towards ‘One World, One Sun, One Grid” said PM Modi.

He added while hailing his government in the Centre, “In past 4.5 years, our government has given around Rs. 5 lakh 78 thousand crores directly to people through different schemes. We have transferred it to their bank accounts”.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Kumar Jugnauth today, on the sidelines of #PravasiBharatiyaDivas.

Addressing the large gathering of NRIs, Prime Minister of Mauritius, Pravind Jugnauth, who was the chief guest of the function said, it is the most precious gathering of India diaspora. He said that whole word has appreciated the initiatives of Prime Minister Modi. He lauded many schemes of central government like Skill India, Digital India and Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao.

PM Modi also took a swipe at Congress, party that ruled for so long made no effort to plug corruption despite a former Prime Minister identifying the malady, while the BJP ended “85% of the loot” in four-and-a-half years.

Earlier on Monday, External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj inaugurated the Youth Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, along with Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath. She said the Indian diaspora has dramatically changed the world’s perception of Indians and India.
