Opposition Parties on Wednesday condemned Pakistan Misadventure and expressed deep concern over the safety of the missing Indian Air Force Pilot. The Opposition Party meeting that was attended by 21 Political Parties also asked the Central Government to take the nation into Confidence on all measures to protect the sovereignty and integrity of the nation.

The Opposition party meeting also asked why Narendra Modi led Central Government didn’t call an all-party meet to discuss the ongoing Indo-Pak Tension.  Among those present were former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress President Rahul Gandhi, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu, Loktantrik Janata Dal leader Sharad Yadav, NCP chief Sharad Pawar and party colleague Praful Patel.

The Opposition on Tuesday had decided to drop the formulation of the Common Minimum Programme (CMP) as the agenda for their meeting in view of the prevailing security situation in the country. They had proposed the Balakot Air Strikes and aftermath as the Agenda for the Opposition Party meeting.

“The meeting of leaders of 21 political parties condemned the dastardly Pulwama attack by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists of Jaish-e-Mohammed on 14th February 2019 and lauded the action taken by our armed forces,” said Congress President Rahul Gandhi after the Opposition party meeting.

Gandhi added ‘Leaders condemned Pakistani misadventure & expressed deep concern for the safety of our missing pilot. Leaders urged the government to take the nation into confidence on all measures to protect India’s sovereignty, unity and integrity”.

Opposition party meeting came amidst the escalating tension between India and Pakistan. A day after the Indian Air Force strike on a terror camp in Pakistan, Jammu and Kashmir saw heightened military activity on Wednesday, with Pakistani jets violating the Indian air space and dropping some bombs in Rajouri sector after which one of their fighters was shot down.

Indian Air Force on Tuesday carried out unprecedented Air Strikes across LoC destroying Balakot JeM Terror Camp. As per reports, 12 Mirage 2000 jets took part in the operation that dropped 1000 kgs of Bomb across LoC in early hours of the Tuesday, Feb 26 completely destroying the Terror Camps.
